ACKMA Events are held throughout the year and and our Annual General Meeting is run as an AGM or as a full conference every two years. ACKMA Forums will also be advertised here once they are planned.
ACKMA UNESCO International Day of Caves and Karst (IDCK)
The first celebration of the UNESCO International Day of Caves and Karst (IDCK) will be held on Sunday 13th September 2026. I have arranged for Brian Clark PSM, a Life Member of ACKMA, to give a talk entitled “World Heritage – Different Perspectives”, interviewed by myself as facilitator.
Brian’s talk will draw on his experiences managing World Heritage caves and karst at Naracoorte Caves in SA and at Gunung Mulu in Sarawak. He will also draw on his experiences visiting other Southeast Asian and Chinese World Heritage sites as an IUCN representative.
Brians’ talk will commence at 18:00 AEST (16:00 AWST, 17:30 ACST, 20:00 NZST) and will run for about 45 minutes, after which there will be time for questions.
