Ngilgi Cave - Yallingup
LOCATION : Ngilgi Cave is located at Yallingup, 190 km south of Perth and 34km from Busselton. |
OVERVIEW : It was discovered in 1899, and opened for tours in 1900. Electric Lighting was installed in 1904. Located in the Leeuwin Naturaliste Ridge (which is listed on the Register of the National Estate), Ngilgi Cave is associated with an aboriginal legend. It is particularly renowned for its beautiful decorations, and large spacious chambers. |

ACCOMMODATION : On site: Cafe, BBQs, walking trails. A wide range of accommodation is available in the surrounding area. |
CAVE TOURS : The cave is open daily. Cave entry is usually on the half hour. School holidays & long weekends: 9.30am to 5.00pm (first tour at 9.30am, last entry 4.00pm). At all other times 9.30am to 4.30pm (last entry 3.30pm). Tours are semi-guided. Fully guided tours can be arranged by appointment. |
SPECIALIST TOURS : Guided Adventure and Torchlight Tours are available by appointment to the unlit sections of the cave, Degree of difficulty: challenging. Helmets & lights are supplied. |
