Hastings Caves
LOCATION : Hastings Caves are situated 108 km south of Hobart in Tasmania's Huon Valley. |

OVERVIEW : They were discovered in late 1917, and opened to visitors in 1939. One show cave is open for inspection. Set in magnificent mixed eucalypt forest, Newdegate Cave has several large inter-linked chambers, which highly decorated with beautiful formations. Nearby is the Hastings Thermal Springs and Pool (28'C), set in a lush fern glade and eucalypt forest. | |
ACCOMMODATION : On Site: A new Visitor's Centre is located at the Thermal Pool (cave ticket office, kiosk, restaurant, souvenirs, and displays), swimming, nature walks, picnic & BBQ areas. Hotels, motels, caravan parks are to be found in Southport, Dover and surrounding areas. | |
CAVE TOURS : Newdegate Cave is open every day including Christmas Day. Tours run hourly through the day depending on demand and time of year - phone for tour times. | |
