Tantanoola Caves

OVERVIEW : The cave was discovered 1930, and opened for inspection in 1931. It was re-developed in recent years, and is fully equipped for wheel chair access. Tantanoola Cave contains one large chamber packed with breathtaking decoration. Large columns, helictites and pool reflections are a speciality.
Tantanoola Cave
LOCATION : Tantanoola Cave is situated in a small park of five caves situated in spectacular ancient sea cliff of limestone with dolomite intrusions. Only Tantanoola Cave only open to public. It is located next to the Princess Highway approximately half way between Mt. Gambier and Milicent.
ACCOMMODATION : On Site: Visitor's Centre. Hotels, motels, caravan parks are located at Mt. Gambier and Millicent.
CAVE TOURS : Tantanoola Cave is open every day from 9.00am to 5pm. Normally, tours (30 minutes in duration) run seven times daily, but more frequent in holiday periods.
