Kellys Hill Caves
LOCATION : Kelly Hill Cave is located on Kangaroo Island, South Australia, 94 km west of Kingscote on the South Coast Road, and 16km east of Flinders Chase National Park. |

OVERVIEW : The cave was discovered about 1880, explored in 1925, and opened to tourists in 1926. Kelly Hill Cave is in bush setting. It has four large caverns with a diverse range of formations. Particularly famed for its helictites (see the photo of the "Fish Hook" below) and wonderful lighting. | |

ACCOMMODATION :On Site: Visitor's Centre (interpretive displays, souvenirs, drinks), picnic & BBQ areas, walking trails. No accommodation on site. Accommodation cottages are available at Flinders Chase NP, Cape Bourda, & Cape du Couedic (book through Flinders Chase National Park). No camping is permissible at the caves. Un-powered sites are available within Flinders Chase National Park. Western Kangaroo Island Caravan Park is located 8km west of cave. Karatta Outdoor Education Centre is 3km east of the cave (groups up to 40). Bed & Breakfast accommodation nearby. There are many Motels/hotels at Kingscote & around island. | |
CAVE TOURS : Kelly Hill Cave (45 minute tour) is open daily (except Christmas Day). Tours normally run hourly from 10am to 4:15pm daily. | |
