Santa abseils into Capricorn Caves

314 Santa in his bright red suit lit up Capricorn Caves as he abseiled 30 metres down the summer solstice light shaft at midday on 22 December. The large crowd cheered as Santa appeared through a vertical shaft in the roof of the Belfry Cave. The sky was cloudless so the sunlight was dazzling in the cave below. The impact of the sunlight on Santa’s red suit and gleaming white beard was brilliant as it lit up the huge Belfry Cave with reflected red light.
