The recent bushfires in Kosciuszko National Park have allowed better access to many areas. The long-lost caves of the Ravine/Lobs Hole/O'Hares Creek valley near Yarrangobilly have been rediscovered.

The caves and associated karst features are unusual in that they are features of construction - rather than of destruction - created by limestone deposition rather than solution. This paper describes their setting and morphology. It would appear that they are 'unique' or at least most unusual in an Australian context.
